Global Quantum Leader Phasecraft Establishes HQ in Arlington

Phasecraft, the world's leading quantum algorithms company, today announced the selection of Arlington, Virginia, as the location for their North American headquarters. Deeply rooted in the U.K.’s pioneering quantum research community and now looking to accelerate their growth in the U.S. market, Phasecraft turns cutting edge science into algorithms that make today’s quantum hardware more powerful and capable.

Phasecraft’s North American headquarters will be located in Arlington’s Rosslyn-Ballston corridor, placing the company within minutes of the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), George Mason University’s Mason Square and FUSE innovation campus, and a highly connected network of established federal technology and defense agencies and private sector partners, emerging ventures and regional organizations working to accelerate the development, adoption, and commercialization of quantum technologies. Initially, the company plans to grow its North American headquarters operations through nineteen (19) new highly skilled jobs and a $113,000 investment.

Earlier this year, Phasecraft announced the company joined DARPA’s Quantum Benchmarking Initiative (QBI) program to help answer the question “is utility-scale quantum computing possible by 2033.”As part of QBI, Phasecraft will leverage its proprietary software and algorithms to inform verification and validation efforts. Around the same time, the Advanced Research Projects Agency–Energy (ARPA-E) announced that Phasecraft was selected for their Quantum Computing for Computational Chemistry (QC3) program, to develop highly optimized quantum algorithms for simulating and discovering new advanced catalysts for use in the energy sector.

Arlington Economic Development collaborated with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) to secure the project for Virginia. The Commonwealth will support Phasecraft’s job creation through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP), which provides consultative services and funding to companies creating new jobs to support employee recruitment and training activities. As a business incentive supporting economic development, VJIP reduces the human resource costs of new and expanding companies. VJIP is state funded, demonstrating Virginia’s commitment to enhancing job opportunities for citizens.
