For the fourth consecutive year, Arlington Economic Development staff headed to Las Vegas for the annual Consumer Electronics Show. This tradeshow, which is hosted by the Arlington-based Consumer Technology Association (CTA), attracts more than 170,000 attendees from major technology companies to startups, investors and general technology enthusiasts, and many more.

AED utilized its presence at CES 2019 to showcase Arlington's status as the #1 Digital County in the United States, setting up shop in the Smart Cities and Internet of Things location at CES. Staff met with dozens of prospective companies and talked about the numerous advantages of doing business in Arlington, from innovative County operations and innovative workforce solutions, to the quality of life and quality of doing business in Arlington.

Thanks to the recent arrivals of Amazon's HQ2 and Nestlé USA's Headquarters, AED can now point to nationally-recognized successes that validate the win themes we have worked to promote around the U.S. over the last four years. This year's presence at CES allowed us to drive this point home while simultaneously identifying technologies that Arlington can work to adopt over the coming years to improve the quality of life of residents and businesses alike.
