Recognizing Black Leaders of Arlington Tech Businesses

In honor of Black History Month and President's Day, which fell smack dab in the middle of the month, we thought it would be great to honor both together, so AED is recognizing a few of its Black leaders of Arlington Tech businesses.

  • Eminent IT
    Based in Crystal City, Eminent IT, founded by two post 9/11 Marine Corps veterans, Isaac Barnes and Jose Risi, both technologists, were passionate about making a difference. Eminent IT provides software development and IT services for the federal government. Eminent IT won Arlington's Fast Four Award in 2018 for their growth. The Fast Four competition recognizes companies with the fastest level of growth year-over-year.

  • Millennium Corporation
    Kevin Jennings and Cedric Henry founded the Millennium Corporation in 2004. The Millennium Corporation is a veteran-owned, strategic management, cybersecurity and systems engineering firm supporting the Federal government. The company has been included on the Inc. 5000 list and received the Virginia Fantastic 50 award for multiple years.

  • IvySys Technologies
    Founded in 2005 by Dr. James DeBardelaben, IvySys Technologies, LLC has always been an innovative technology solutions and services firm. From the very beginning, IvySys focused on solving critical threat awareness problems for the defense, intelligence, and homeland security communities using its advanced analytics capabilities. “IvySys is an R&D innovation partner to some of the U.S. Government’s most advanced research and development agencies. "The close proximity of our Ballston office to R&D agencies, such as DARPA, has been essential to building on our relationships to better understand their problems,” Dr. DeBardelaben says.

As a result, they provide clients high-quality, cost-efficient solutions in engineering and development, IT services, program and project management, data management, ingestion and analytics. In 2020, STEMBoard made the Inc. 5000 list.
