With over 9,000 cybersecurity jobs and a qualified candidate supply of over 14,000, the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria metropolitan area remains the nation's top location for cybersecurity professionals and companies. To provide some comparison, the New York-Newark-Jersey City metropolitan area ranks second to our region with just over half of the number of qualified cybersecurity professionals.

In response to the increasing regional demand for qualified cyber professionals, George Mason University recently announced a new Cyber Security Engineering Program, the first of its kind in the country. The program launched on March 1 and expects 500 undergraduate students in its existing school of engineering to participate in the new program.
