MoCA Arlington to open Innovation Studio + Store at Amazon HQ2

On Jan. 24, Amazon and the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington (MoCA) celebrated the grand opening of MoCA’s newest concept – the MoCA Innovation Studio + Store.
Located at Amazon’s HQ2 at Met Park, the Innovation Studio + Store are a complement to MoCA’s flagship location in Arlington’s Virginia Square neighborhood. Here in the new Studio +Store, the public can interact directly with artists, make art themselves, attend artist talks and other programming and shop in the new museum store. As MoCA celebrates it’s 50th anniversary year, this new site expands the mission to champion the power of art to enhance public life.
Amazon’s Met Park is home to more than 10 local, minority and women-owned businesses and the site of three significant new public art installations by Nekisha Durrett, Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle and Aurora Robson. With Amazon’s commitment to supporting the local community, MoCA’s Innovation Studio + Store is a demonstration of an accessible space where members of the community can learn more about contemporary art and interact with professional artists at work, explore their creativity in classes and shop various creative and inspiring products from the museum store.
