La Union: The Store that Unites the Community
April 8, 2022 | By Yeykin Valenzuela
At times, entrepreneurs endure different difficulties before they become business owners. They experience various scenarios and try different ways to achieve their goal of owning a business. Arlington’s La Union is no exception. Initially, a food truck enterprise, La Union is now a full neighborhood grocery.
La Union Grocery belongs to Reina Cano and Luis Pacheco, both from Guatemala. After a few years of owning a food truck in Washington, D.C., and experiencing the challenges of food truck life, the duo turned their sights to a storefront location. That dream soon became a reality with La Union Grocery along Langston Boulevard, which sells various Central and South American products as well as homemade meals, fresh fruit, vegetables, and more.
When the pair wanted to improve La Union, they turned to BizLaunch for its resources. Some of the resources La Union utilized were one-on-one counseling, strategic planning, GRANT 2.0, and ReLaunch. Thanks to these programs and the dedication from the owners, the grocery has been able to operate and succeed through rough times. BizLaunch’s ReLaunch program helped La Union develop marketing techniques as well as a brand-new website to help expand its customer base.
ReLaunch has already helped dozens of entrepreneurs improve their Arlington businesses. For more information regarding ReLaunch, visit www.BizLaunch.org.
