We all know that Arlington was named the fittest city in America by the American Fitness Index, and it seems as though even in a time of pandemic, Arlington truly is for fitness lovers. In fact, a number of Arlington fitness centers and related businesses are finding new and innovative ways to connect with their customers and offer fitness to the public, even during the Stay at Home executive order.

Bash Boxing, with locations in Rosslyn and Ballston, are known for group boxing and kickboxing classes, but even without the heavy bag or boxing gloves, the studio is keeping its customers fit and offering a chance for anyone to try to discover an inner boxer. Bash is offering free live classes throughout the week on its Instagram page for anyone looking to try shadowboxing (and perhaps let out a little pent-up aggression).

While its main stage may be dark until the crisis is over, Arlington’s Synetic Theatre is not only streaming some of its past productions, it’s also offering live online fitness classes for the public taught by trained Synetic company members. The classes are Pay-What-You-Can and promise to get the heart rate up while having fun and leveraging Synetic Physical Theater techniques.

And of course, trying to maintain a sense of normalcy during a pandemic may be tough, so there are several Arlington yoga and meditation studios stepping up to offer an online moment of zen. Sun and Moon Yoga Studio along Lee Highway has moved all of its classes to the online Zoom platform, and The Village Mind is now offering complimentary online meditation classes for kids and adults. Mind the Mat Pilates and Yoga is offering a digital access pass for free classes live via Facebook Live as well as access to its entire digital library of yoga, pilates and barre classes.

These businesses dedicated to keeping Arlington fit during these times are just a few of the many offering online classes or otherwise modifying their business models to continue operation during these challenging times. Visit our business support page for other options around Arlington.
