Arlington Real Estate Honored at NAIOP Awards

Arlington development projects took center stage at the annual Best of NAIOP Northern Virginia Awards, which celebrate significant new and renovated contributions to the region by the commercial, industrial and mixed-use real estate community.
"Focus on Excellence" was the theme of the gala, which is the NAIOP Northern Virginia chapter's premier event and demonstrates the dedication of outstanding individuals who provide contributions to the build environment.
Taking a top prize of the Real Estate Transaction Award for Excellence for lease projects of 175,000SF and above was the Amazon HQ2 win, located in Crystal City and submitted by JBG SMITH. Other Arlington-based winning projects included:
- Buildings — Master Plan: Award of Excellence for The Highlands, submitted by Penzance and located in Rosslyn.
- Capital Improvements — Non-Institutional: Award of Excellence for 1100 Wilson Boulevard Roof Deck, submitted by Monday Properties and located in Rosslyn.
- Capital Improvements — Non-Institutional: Award of Excellence for Dominion Apartments, submitted by Snell Properties and located in Arlington.
- Capital Improvements — Non-Institutional: Award of Excellence for Ballston Quarter, submitted by Cooper Carry and located in Ballston.
- Mixed-Use Project — Multi-Building: Award of Excellence for Ballston Quarter, submitted by Brookfield Properties and located in Ballston.
- Interiors — Tenant Space 10,000 - 25,000 SF: Award of Excellence for Rapid7, submitted by Bognet Construction and located in Ballston.
- Interiors — Tenant Space 25,000 SF - 50,000 SF: Award of Excellence for Conservation International, submitted by Gensler and located in Crystal City.
- Interiors — Tenant Space 50,000 SF and Above: Award of Excellence for Nestlé USA HQ, submitted by Gensler and located in Rosslyn.
