Arlington’s position at the center of the nation’s defense, security and technology ecosystem is attracting a growing number of companies choosing to display and demonstrate their most advanced products locally. From autonomous systems to next-generation infrastructure and cybersecurity tools, Arlington has steadily become a hub for experience centers designed to put innovation directly in front of government, industry and commercial customers.

The newest addition is Teledyne FLIR Defense, which opened its office and “Crystal City Experience Center” at 1550 Crystal Drive in the fall of 2025. Just minutes from the Pentagon and within close proximity to major defense primes, Capitol Hill and Reagan National Airport, the center is designed to give federal decision-makers hands-on access to the company’s unmanned systems, detection technologies and imaging sensors.

“As one of America’s leading defense technology companies, we’re excited to open this new office close to our largest customers in the U.S. military,” said Dr. JihFen Lei, president of Teledyne FLIR Defense. “We’ll be able to leverage the space to demonstrate many of our advanced unmanned platforms, detection systems, and imaging sensors, which is why we’ve named it the Experience Center.” She added that the company looks forward to “hosting customers, partners, friends and colleagues in the months and years ahead.”

Teledyne FLIR Defense joins several other companies that have long recognized Arlington as an ideal location to showcase technology.

Just blocks away, Lockheed Martin’s Global Vision Center at 2121 Crystal Drive has operated for more than two decades as a state-of-the-art meeting and demonstration facility. It features interactive displays, artifacts, videos and media that highlight the corporation’s broad portfolio of programs, ongoing technology development and history of innovation in aerospace and defense.

In Rosslyn, Microsoft’s Digital Transformation Showcase at 1300 Wilson Blvd., opened in 2022, serves as a hub for its federal team and regional sales operations. The location includes a Microsoft Technology Center, offering customers the ability to explore the company’s latest cloud, cybersecurity and digital transformation tools.

Siemens Government Technologies selected Arlington for its 2024 showroom at 2231 Crystal Dr., emphasizing the company’s work in energy generation and resiliency, as well as smart infrastructure modernization — areas closely aligned with federal and defense priorities.

Arlington has also become a preferred U.S. entry point for global technology firms. Genetec, headquartered in Montreal, opened its first U.S. Experience Center in 2023 at 1000 Wilson Blvd., highlighting its security, intelligence and operations technology portfolio. Sweden-based Axis Communications followed with its D.C.-area Experience Center at 1001 19th St., N., where customers can interact directly with experts and explore innovations in video surveillance, access control, intercom and audio systems.

Even Boeing’s Arlington headquarters includes spaces dedicated to demonstrating the company’s latest aerospace and defense technologies to government and industry partners.

Collectively, these experience centers underscore Arlington’s unique value for companies working at the intersection of defense, technology and innovation. With unmatched proximity to federal stakeholders and a dense network of mission-driven organizations, Arlington continues to serve as a premier location for showcasing cutting-edge solutions.
