Federal employment can come with shifts and uncertainties, which is why Arlington is committed to providing reliable resources year-round. The Assistance for Federal Employees and Contractors page serves as a central hub for job seekers, entrepreneurs and those facing financial or personal challenges. Launched in early 2025, this resource connects individuals with employment services, business support, public benefits and community programs.

Comprehensive Support for Federal Employees and Contractors

As a leg of Arlington County Government, Arlington Economic Development (AED) is eager to share a variety of resources tailored to assist federal employees, contractors and other members of the Arlington community.

Career Transition Assistance

The Arlington Employment Center (AEC) is dedicated to helping Arlington residents develop the skills needed to secure and maintain long-term employment. Services include:

  • Job Search Support: Access to a comprehensive job board and personalized assistance to connect you with new employment opportunities.
  • Skill Development: Workshops and webinars on resume writing, interview techniques and leveraging platforms like LinkedIn.
