ARLINGTON, Va. — A new small business is hitting Arlington streets this summer with a community-focused twist on a classic treat.

Amanda’s Churn, founded by Arlington entrepreneur Amanda Pierce, has launched a mobile ice cream bike serving scratch-made, small-batch ice cream across the region. The business features seasonal flavors made with local dairy and offers a menu designed to be nut-free and allergy-friendly.

Pierce was recently named a winner of Arlington Economic Development’s BizLaunch Pitch Competition, a recognition that highlights innovative small businesses and supports entrepreneurs as they grow in Arlington.

Residents can meet Pierce and experience Amanda’s Churn in person at the Small Vendor Showcase on Saturday, June 6, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. where the business will be serving samples and sharing more about its unique approach to ice cream.

“Amanda’s Churn is about more than ice cream — it’s about creating joyful moments and building community,” Pierce said. “I wanted to create something that felt nostalgic and fun while offering high-quality ingredients and allergy-friendly options people can feel good about sharing.”

Instead of a traditional ice cream truck, Amanda’s Churn operates from a custom-designed bike, allowing for a more personal and neighborhood-friendly experience. The business plans to serve at local events, festivals and private gatherings throughout Arlington and the broader D.C. region.

Amanda’s Churn emphasizes local sourcing and seasonality, with rotating flavors throughout the year. Customers can also follow the business on social media for updates on locations and new offerings.

The BizLaunch Pitch Competition win provided early visibility and support for the business, reinforcing Arlington’s commitment to fostering small-business growth and entrepreneurship.

Amanda’s Churn joins Arlington’s growing ecosystem of food entrepreneurs and community-oriented small businesses, contributing to the county’s vibrant local economy.
