Founded in December 2021 by Carola McGiffert, 30 Minute HIT Arlington is a kickboxing gym designed for women. 30 Minute HIT is a high-intensity circuit that incorporates kickboxing, boxing and self-defense techniques, and core exercises for a full-body workout in only 30 minutes. There is always a trainer on the floor teaching and motivating members, and it is a workout for all fitness levels. Included with membership are free boxing gloves, wraps and unlimited exercises at a flat rate.

When the global pandemic began, McGiffert sought out opportunities and came across Heather Rosen of FranNet. FranNet offers free franchise information and consulting to individuals looking to start a business through franchise ownership. “I wouldn’t be the 30 Minute HIT Arlington owner without Heather,” says McGiffert. “Her expertise guided me through franchising, helping me identify my personal and professional priorities.”

With Arlington being the fittest city in the nation, local women have a lot to choose from when it comes to boutique fitness. However, 30 Minute HIT is slightly different from other boutique gyms or group fitness. “Our 30-minute workout is designed for women of all fitness levels. Our members appreciate the ability to punch, kick and sweat in a female-only environment,” said McGiffert. Additionally, with 30 Minute HIT being a circuit, there are no class start times. “This means our members are never late and will never incur a late or cancellation fee.” “We have trainers on the floor, making sure our members use the proper and safe technique while motivating them to work harder,” said McGiffert. Furthermore, for those with young kids, 30 Minute HIT has a small area off the mat where kids can hang out in the eyesight of their mom while she works the circuit.

As we sometimes say in BizLaunch, it takes a village to help entrepreneurs start their businesses, and McGiffert was no different. She reached out to BizLaunch in early 2021 once she had selected her space to learn about the resources available in the community. “Alex Held was an enormous help. He gave me great advice and introduced me to key business organizations,” said McGiffert.

30 Minute HIT Arlington has big plans on the horizon for the next five years. “I hope to open a few more gyms across Arlington and elsewhere in the area so that I can expand our community and offer our workout to more women,” said McGiffert.
