Onward Arlington: Designing for a COVID Resilient Space

With communities across Virginia going into Phase II of Forward Virginia, small businesses have gone to incredible lengths to protect their employees, customers and themselves. As we adjust to a new normal, many small business owners are finding that their place of business looks a lot different today than it may have at the beginning of the year.

In designing a space for the new normal, how can design elements be used to help maintain social distancing standards? What are some low-cost design ideas to help limit the occupancy of a restaurant/retail space while ensuring that it’s inviting? How can signage be implemented to help maintain movement within a space?

As part of our Onward Arlington series, attendees will learn about the following and more from our subject matter expert, Claire Tamburro of Tamburro Interiors:

  • The interior design process
  • Design considerations
  • Low cost design ideas to facilitate social distancing
  • Real world examples to ensure safety while making a space more inviting
