Home Shopping Network: American Dreams Event

Do you have a unique product that you’d like to sell to the masses? Do you have a great story? Are you interested in knowing what distributors are looking for in products? If so, join us on Feb. 27, 2017 at the Spectrum Theater to hear from SCORE counselor Ron Barron as he discusses how to pitch your product to Home Shopping Network (HSN) through the American Dreams program.

The American Dreams special event is unique in that if selected, HSN will purchase and store your merchandise for distribution prior to your company going on the air. At this first session, you will also speak to counselors to get ready for the big pitch during Small Business week in the spring. Seating is limited. Sign up today!

Who is the person(s) speaking? Is this being offered by HSN itself or through a third party person/consultant/business? 
Primary speaker is Ron Baron. Ron is a SCORE mentor and the initiator and relationship manager of the HSN-American Dream program for SCORE.

Beverages and pastries, fruit will be provided prior to the start of the meeting, beginning by 9:15 a.m.

Any suggestions or information on parking?
Parking is available for a fee at the Spectrum Theater. Suggest Metro, as an option. The Blue, Orange and Silver lines go through the Roslyn station and the theater is a short walk from the Metro

How is lunch being handled?
Lunch is the participant's responsibility. There are several places within walking distance of the Theater.

What happens after this initial meeting?  
After the event on  Feb. 27, in approx.. 3 to 8 weeks the following will happen:

  • Product applications submitted to HSN
  • HSN Reps – Buyers and Producers meet one-to-one with entrepreneurs and product creators qualifying for the next step
  • Feedback
  • Improvement ideasPick the products to air

How do I sign up to make a product pitch to the audience or the SCORE Product feedback panel?
45 minutes has been allocated for Product Pitches to the audience. To sign up to make a pitch,  email Ed Coleman at [email protected] with your product idea. Selection will be based on sign up order. Product panel will be available for individual consultation from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.
