Arlington Economic Development (AED) has chosen five emerging startups from Arlington to attend and exhibit with us at Collision — the nation’s fastest-growing tech conference. Collision takes place next week, from April 30 – May 3, 2018 in New Orleans. We are profiling each of the five startups this week in advance of the conference.
RouteMarket offers an online freight shipment marketplace and routing services to truck drivers and companies shipping freight. We interviewed their founder, Caleb Royer, to understand a little bit more about the company and what he hopes to achieve at Collision.
Describe your startup in a few sentences:
Route Market offers online freight shipment marketplace for truck drivers and companies shipping freight. For carriers, shipments are scheduled along optimized routes to provide maximum profit by reducing deadhead miles and keeping trucks full. We also provide fleet managers a free and simple way to manage and track their fleet operations.
For shippers, RouteMarket offers a reliable one-stop interface to post freight, get notifications, track shipments, make payments for delivered loads and track shipping metrics. This combination of features simplifies the entire shipping transaction, saving everyone time, money and sanity. We're using internally developed software to reduce friction in the shipping process — a process that is more manual than most people would imagine.
Brag a little. What have been your company’s biggest accomplishments recently?:
We're pretty early, but our software has launched and we're doing sales activity, and our app, website, production system is all live in the wild.
What are your goals for the Collision conference?:
Why is Arlington a great place for your startup?:
We've made good use of Arlington's tech and entrepreneurial culture, coworking spaces, the accomplished tech and business mentors to be found in the area and will hopefully grow additional presence here as human talent is identified and business partnerships created.
