Several Arlington companies have topped recent national rankings looking at diversity and equality in the workplace. Two Arlington companies were among a total of 19 in Virginia named by Forbes magazine as 2020's Best Employers for Diversity. The magazine looked at companies with at least 1,000 employees and ranked organizations on criteria ranging from age and ethnicity to disability and sexual orientation. Arlington’s BAE Systems and Nestlé USA were ranked #466 and #498 in the nation respectively.
Additionally, those same two Arlington companies joined Arlington’s Willis Towers Watson as the three Arlington companies named to the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2020 list of “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality.” Nearly 700 U.S. companies were included in the list nationwide, which was released in the 18th edition of the organization’s 2020 Corporate Equality Index. A total of 19 companies in Virginia were named to the list.
The top scoring (all receiving a 100% CEI rating) companies in Virginia were based on LGBTQ-friendly practices and policies as well as support for an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility.Topic: Economic Update
